Solutions Advocate: Camille Currie's Leadership in Healthcare Reform

  • Enable Physician Assistants (PAs) to work in all BC Healthcare settings from primary care to surgical care.

  • Camille has called for an audit of the spending allocation of the Ministry of Health. We spend significantly more on administrative and executive costs rather than care compared to other comparable jurisdictions.

  • Address the underlying causes of unmet needs among union nurses that contribute to the proliferation of nurse privatization through nursing agencies

  • Audit to assess the efficacy of Urgent Primary Care Centers.

  • Create a healthcare system focused on wellness, the prevention of illness, and reduction of the need for chronic and acute care.

  • Support an integrated, multidisciplinary healthcare system in which the workload of doctors is reduced by enabling other regulated healthcare professionals to provide appropriate services.

  • Expedite the process for establishing Community Health Centres, and reduce barriers.
